REIKI TREATMENT

WHAT IS A REIKI TREATMENT?

Reiki is a simple and natural healing technique for use on oneself and with others. This healing system involves laying on of hands and uses spiritual energy to treat ailments. Reiki is a gentle yet powerful healing system, balancing the person on all levels – body, mind, emotions and spirit. More than a healing therapy though, it is also used as a spiritual path towards conscious awareness and mindful living.

REIKI AS ENERGY MEDICINE

The word Reiki is Japanese for “Universal Life Force Energy.” ”Rei” refers to the source of all Life, also known as God, Universe, Source, Buddha, Allah, and so on. “Ki” refers to life energy, or a force that exists and permeates all created matter. The concept of life force energy is ancient knowledge, and is present in almost all cultures. The Chinese call it Chi; the Japanese as Ki; Hindus as Prana; Christians call it Light or Holy Spirit, and the list goes on. This life force energy is present in all of us, keeping us alive and connecting us to all living things. When our life force energy flows smoothly, we feel healthy and happy. When our life force energy is blocked or congested, we feel sick or stressed. Since Reiki comes directly from the highest source of all energy, the healing that comes to the receiver is the purest it can get.

HOW DOES REIKI WORK?

Reiki heals, harmonizes and clears energetic blocks. It reconnects you back to wholeness, creating permanent healing. The Reiki practitioner acts as a channel of the healing energy, first flowing through him or her, then letting it flow to the receiver. Because Reiki is intelligent, divine energy, it can never overflow nor cause harm to the giver and receiver, and always creates a lasting, healing effect, its benefits manifesting as simple relaxation and rejuvenation, emotional healing to more miraculous effects. Reiki works holistically, balancing the person physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It promotes health and a higher sense of well-being for the person on all levels.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A REIKI TREATMENT?

During the session, the client simply relaxes on a massage bed, fully clothed, while the Reiki healer places her hands on or above the client’s body in a sequence of hand positions, starting from the head all the way down to the feet.  Other hand positions may be utilized based on the client’s needs.  Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes.

HOW DOES A REIKI TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

Many describe a Reiki session as a spiritual massage. If you feel stressed, you will feel the anxiety and tension in your body melt away. A Reiki session leaves you on the physical level relaxed, rejuvenated and getting a good night’s sleep. The deeper effects of a Reiki session includes creating lasting healing on your body, mind, heart and spirit.

WHAT CONDITION DOES REIKI TREAT?

Reiki has had a positive effect on all forms of illness and negative conditions. This includes minor things like head or stomach aches, bee stings, colds, flu, tension and anxiety as well as serious illness like heart disease, cancer, leukemia, etc. The side effects of regular medical treatments have also been reduced or eliminated. This includes the negative effects of chemotherapy, post operative pain and depression as well as improving the healing rate and reducing the time needed to stay in the hospital. Reiki always helps and in some cases people have experienced complete healings which have been confirmed by medical tests before and after the Reiki treatments. However, while some have experienced miracles, they cannot be guaranteed. Stress reduction with some improvement in ones physical and psychological condition are what most experience.

During my Reiki session with Sarah, I felt like my “batteries” had been fully charged. Reiki with Sarah is gentle, reassuring and powerful.  Learning Reiki with her too has been meditative and healing, and also relaxing and energizing.”
